"That's my bottom."
"But... that's impossible..." sputtered Pluck.
"I'll wave my tail," said the horse. "Then you'll see."
And now in the distance, Pluck saw the tail swishing back and forth.
"You... you must be a very long horse."
"I am. I'm Longmount, the world's longest horse."
"Where do you live? And who's your owner? Who looks after you?" asked
Pluck.
"Help me up onto dry land, why don't you?" said Longmount. "Just help
me, instead of standing around asking questions. That is your tow truck,
isn't it?"
"I'm sorry," said Pluck. "Of course I'll help you. Do you think you could
come in a bit closer?"
Longmount struggled over to the side of the canal. Pluck attached the
hook of the tow truck to the horse's halter and climbed into the cab.
"Ready now... here we go!" he shouted. Just then two men in army uniforms
came around the corner. They hurried up. "Longmount!" they shouted. "What
happened?"
