Santa Claus
It was almost Christmas, and they were decorating
the Christmas tree. Libby-Lee got out the big box of ornaments;
some of them were just gorgeous. Everything was glinting and gleaming
and sparkling, and Libby-Lee's mother had a big bag full of green,
yellow and pink candy canes.
"Give me the stepladder," her father said, "then I can put up the
star."
"It's so beautiful," sighed Libby-Lee. "It's wonderful."
Some golden tinsel here,
a silver bell goes there,
and here a lovely shining
star and there some angel's hair. .
A tiny bell for on this branch
with handfuls of woolly snow,
soon we'll light all the candles
and sit in the room in their glow.
Some golden tinsel here,
a silver bell goes there,
now put the star right at the top
it's beautiful now everywhere.
Ding dong, bells are ringing,
ding dong, candy cane,
ding dong, a last red ribbon,
it's twinkling and sparkling again.
