"I still want to see it," said the hairdresser shivering.
He turned up the collar of his jacket and walked from one freezer to the
next, past endless racks of fish fish fish.
"This sure is a big place," said the hairdresser. "I'd better not go too
far, otherwise I'll get lost. Where have those men got to? Hello..." he
shouted. And when no answer came, he called out again, "Hello!" Heavens,
he thought, I have to go back. Otherwise I'll freeze solid. This cold
is unbearable. He turned around and started back. He wandered from room
to room, between the racks of fish, and ten minutes later he had no idea
which way to turn. In desperation he started running and yelling, but
no one heard him.
The icy cold crept up his nose and into his lungs and his eyes and his
toes. He started aching all over and all his muscles and joints stiffened
up. He sat down on a box of fish and started to cry. His tears froze immediately
and fell like old-fashioned pear drops to the floor, where they bounced.
